About our Classes
The Painted Pot has been offering pottery wheel classes since 1998. All classes are taught by our accomplished artist/teachers in a motivating, creative environment. One to one attention will be given to each student. In handbuilding, student's will learn slab, pinching & coil techniques without the use of the potters wheel. Each student will receive individualized instructions according to their interests and experience. We have sculpture and handbuilding classes for children and teens as well as adults.

Winter Semester 2014: January 12 to March 29
Spring Semester 2014: April 6 to June 22
Summer Semester 2014: July 6 to August 30 (8 Weeks)
Fall Semester 2014: September 14 to December 6

Students will be taught the fundamentals of wedging, centering, lifting, trimming and glazing in the Wheel Class. In addition to being exposed to a working pottery studio, each student will receive individualized instructions according to their interests and experience.

Adult class tuition is $370 for a 10 week course PLUS firing fees per cubic inch for two firings which pays for clay, glazes and handling.

Students are required to supply their own tools. Tool kits will be available to be purchased for $18. Tuition includes one two-hour class a week, clay, glazes, and open studio time. Students must sign in for open studio time. The open studio hours are subject to change without notice.

Students will be introduced to basic handbuilding techniques by creating functional pieces. In addition, you will learn the art of Glass Fusion creating functional pieces and jewelry, you will paint with Acrylics on Canvas, and learn how to Mosaic. Each student will receive individualized instruction.

Adult Canvas Painting Classes

Have you ever wanted to paint on canvas but were intimidated by the process? Well, The Painted Pot has the solution! We are now offering acrylic painting on canvas and we will make the process easy, stress free and fun for you. Creative and experienced staff will walk you through the painting process from start to finish. Depending on the featured painting, the image will be pre-drawn on the canvas before you arrive so you can start painting right away. Bonus! You can take your painting home that day! We have the canvas, easels, paints, brushes and aprons ready to help you create your masterpiece. All you need to do is bring a friend, family member or a date and your drink of choice. Private parties will be available. Classes for adults will require pre-registration and payment. Please arrive 15 minutes before your session to sign in and prepare for painting. The cost of the classes will range from $35 to $55 for a 16” X 20” canvas and painting supplies. You will be proud of your painting when you leave. Classes for children will be after school and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The cost of the classes will be $25 for a 16” X 20” canvas and painting supplies. Your children will be proud to display their masterpieces.

The Painted Pot offers Handbuilding/Sculpture and Wheel pottery classes for children ages 5 years through 16 years old. Our classes are small and intimate, which will provide an environment to encourage your child's creative self-expression in clay. This program will expose children to an actual working pottery studio where they will use the wheel, handbuilding, glazing and other pottery making methods. Students explore handbuilding construction techniques, experiment with shapes and texture as well as try basic techniques for throwing cylinders and bowls on the wheel. Children with previous experience will be challenged with advanced pottery techniques. All classes are taught by our accomplished artist/teachers. One to one attention will be given to each student.

Wheel Students will be taught the fundamentals of wedging, centering, lifting, trimming and glazing. In addition, students will learn the basic techniques for Handbuilding functional ware by other pottery making methods. Each student will receive individualized instructions according to his or her interests and experience.
