Auguste Elder graduated from The University of the Arts, and New York University, and has studied pottery independently in Philadelphia, Paris, and New York City. He has been a visiting artist at Salem Art Works (SAW) since 2015, where he focuses primarily on wood-firing vessels and urns inspired by Japanese and Etruscan wares. His pottery is in the permanent collection of the New York Public Library, and has also appeared in Ceramics Monthly. Solo exhibitions include The American Buddhist Study Center, The Jefferson Market Library, and Floating Mountain Gallery.
